Sift together flour and salt into a large -Mixing bowl.
Using fingertips gently rub in butter till mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs, Make a well in the center and gradually add combined milk and water mixing with knife to form a soft, slightly sticky dough.
Turn dough onto a lightly floured board and knead to form a smooth round shape.
Lightly grease a baking sheet or pie plate.
Place dough on pan and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 25 minutes, then reduce heat to 350°F (180°C) and bake a further 15-20 minutes until the loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
