|Chopped bermuda onion||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Sauterne||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Rye bread slices||12|
|Swiss cheese slices||12|
To marinate onion, place chopped onion in a shallow dish.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Cover and let stand for at least 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
To make sandwiches, top 6 slices bread with marinated onion, drained, and another slice of cheese and bread.
Grill sandwiches on both sides,.or place in a folding long-handled wire rack and toast on both sides over hot coals.
