Thanksgiving volunteers

Thanksgiving is the time of year to say Thank You and be thankful for all the blessings in our lives, and what better way to celebrate this than by giving back to others?  Given below are some opportunities for you to volunteer your services, your time or your money in the efforts being carried out by various organizations in the Washtenaw County on or before November 22.


Food Gatherers - The huge network of Food Gatherers will offer several opportunities to volunteer around Thanksgiving. In case you want to lend a hand in distributing meals and groceries to the needy during this holiday, get in touch with or call 734-761-2796.


SOS Community Services - Monetary donations are welcome at Services, which will keep its food pntry open on Tuesday. In case you want to donate cooked food or food items, that can be done t the SOS Administration Office at the Housing Center at 114 North River St., between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Benefit Dinner - A traditional Thanksgiving dinner shall be hosted by First United Methodist Church of Ann Arbor on November 17. You can call up the church office at 734-662-4536, or visit at 120 S. State St. to find out how you can help.


Ann Arbor Vineyard Homeless Ministry - It needs volunteers for its Thanksgiving dinner, however, you can also make donations in clothing such as jeans, sweatpants, sweatshirts, hoodies, gloves, shoes, socks, thermals, sleeping bags, etc.
