On the auspicious occasion of Krishna Janamashtami, Cartoon Network is showcasing four Krishna movies, chronicling the key mythological stages of Lord Krishna from birth to kansa vadh. As part of this programming special on Janamashtami, Cartoon Network will host the Indian television premiere of the Krishna: Kansa Vadh, the final feature of the four part Krishna movie series on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at 12:00 p.m.

As a prelude to Janmashtami, Cartoon Network will also air the other three movies of this series including, Krishna: The Birth on September 1 at 12:00 p.m., Krishna: Makhan Chor on September 2 at 12:00 p.m. and Krishna: In Vrindavan on September 3 at 12:00 p.m. Krishna: Kansa Vadh takes the count of local animations acquired and showcased by Cartoon Network to sixteen.

Acquired from Hyderabad-based, Green Gold Animation Studio, the first three installments of the Krishna movies is record breaking, with each clocking a TVR of 2! In fact, they were 3 of only 5 shows this year from January 1 - August 18 to achieve this feat! This included, Krishna: in Vrindavan with 2.5 TVR; Krishna: Makhan Chor with 2.3 TVR; Krishna: The Birth with 2.1 TVR.

Monica Tata, Vice President, Advertising Sales and Networks, India & South Asia, Turner International India Pvt. Ltd., said, “Cartoon Network has always believed in the potential of Indian animation and has been supporting the Indian animation  industry since 2001, by acquiring quality local content. In fact moving a step ahead, the Network has been working closely with production houses and adding value in the creative process of content development. Green Gold Animation has been one such important associate and creative partner. We are delighted that the Krishna movie series have delivered exceptional ratings, reiterating that Cartoon Network understands the entertainment needs of Indian kid’s best.  I am sure Indian families will enjoy watching the concluding feature, Krishna: Kansa Vadh, of the hugely popular Krishna movie series.”

Krishna: Kansa Vadh, the final installment of the four part Krishna feature, details the enchanting tale of Lord Krishna’s courageous and adventurous life and how he saves the village of Vrindavan from demons.  The movie will showcase celebrated stories of Lord Krishna, such as when he asks the people of Vrindavan to worship the Govardhan Parvat for rain instead of Lord of heaven - Indra! Enraged by this, Lord Indra expresses his fury through thunder and rainstorm upon the village of Vrindavan.  Krishna carries the Govardhan Parvat on his little finger and shelters all the villagers and cattle, protecting them from the merciless thunder and rain.

Eventually, Lord Indra realises that he is battling none other than Lord Vishnu himself in the form of Krishna and he asks for forgiveness.  Soon stories about Lord Krishna’s miracles spread far and wide and also reach the court of the evil King Kansa. Realizing that he could be none other than Deviki’s son - his ultimate destroyer, Kansa is struck with horror. However, he soon devises a sinister plan to kill Krishna.

Despite the dangers that he confronts, the courageous, mischievous and loveable lord Krishna emerges victorious in the end and kills the evil King Kansa. Consequently Lord Krishna releases his imprisoned parents Devaki and Vasudev as well as his grandfather Ugrasen and crowns him the King of Mathura. Krishna’s mischievous and miraculous stories in Mathura are enthralling and truly exciting.

amazing understanding ..........The teachings of Lord Krishna have been written down in a book famously known as 'Bhagwad Gita'. It is the holy book of Hindus. It is to Hindus, what Bible is to Christians or what the holy Quran is to Muslims. Since the book is quite big and extensive, sometimes it becomes difficult for a person to read at a stretch. Geeta Saar is the gist of the main teachings of Lord Krishna. It contains the crux of the Holy Gita. Lord questions everyone over various issues and asks them to give up the illusionary world. Bhagwan Krishna says, the only way to achieve life long happiness is to surrender to him. --Why do you worry unnecessarily? What are you afraid of? Who can kill destroy you? A soul is never born, so it never dies. --Whatever happened in the past, happened for the best; whatever is happening, is happening for the best; whatever will happen in future, will happen for the best. Do not repent the past, do not worry for future, concentrate on your present. --What did you own, that makes you cry on losing? What did you bring, that you fear losing? What did you give birth to, that you fear its destruction? You didn't bring anything. Whatever one takes, one must return it to God. Everyone came empty handed and will therefore die, empty handed. --Whatever belongs to you today, belonged to someone else yesterday and it will belong to some one else tomorrow. Don't be illusioned by maya. Maya is the root cause of all pain and misery. --Change is the rule of nature. What one understands, as death is actually life itself. One moment you are the owner of crores and in the very next moment you become a pauper. --Your body doesn't belong to you and vice versa. Body is composed of five elements- Fire, Water, Air, Earth and Sky; one day it will perish in these elements. --Offer yourself to the Almighty Lord. This is the best support. One who knows this unconditional support gains freedom from fear, worry and despair.
