Breakfast Oatmeal Special
|Skim milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Unsweetened apple juice||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Quick-cooking oats||1 Cup (16 tbs), uncooked|
|Cooking apple||1 Medium, chopped|
|Dates||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), chopped|
|Ground cinnamon||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Grated orange rind||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Ground cloves||1 Dash|
|Wheat germ||3 Tablespoon|
Combine milk and apple juice in a 1 1/2-quarr saucepan; bring to a boil.
Add oats, apple, and dates; cook, stirring frequently, 1 minute.
Remove from heat, and stir in honey, cinnamon, orange rind, and cloves.
Cover and let stand 3 minutes.
Stir oatmeal; spoon into individual serving bowls.
Sprinkle each serving with 1 1/2 teaspoons wheat germ.
