Old Time Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Ingredients
  Unsalted butter 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Firmly packed brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Granulated sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Egg 1
  Water 2 Tablespoon
  All purpose flour 2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)
  Cinnamon 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Baking soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Rolled oats 3 Cup (48 tbs)
  Raisins 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Chopped walnuts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

In large bowl with electric mixer, cream butter with brown and granulated sugars until fluffy; beat in egg and water.
In separate bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt; with wooden spoon, blend into creamed mixture.
Stir in oats, raisins, and nuts (if using).
Roll heaping teaspoonfuls (5 mL) of batter into small balls; place on greased baking sheets 2 inches (5 cm) apart.
With moistened hands, gently flatten cookie to about 1/2-inch (1 cm) thickness.
Bake in 350°F (180°C) oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly golden and still soft in center.
Transfer immediately to racks and let cool.
Makes about 6 dozen.
