Oatmeal Quickies

Ingredients
Sugar - 1 1/4 cups
Crisco -1/2 cup
Eggs - 2
Rolled oats -1 1/2 cups
Sour milk or buttermilk - 1/2 cup
Sifted flour - 1 1/2 cups
Baking powder - 1 1/2 teaspoons
Baking soda - 1/2 teaspoon
Salt -3/4 teaspoon
Cinnamon - 3/4 teaspoon
Nutmeg -3/4 teaspoon
Ground cloves -3/4 teaspoon
Raisins -3/4 cup
Nuts -3/4 cup, chopped
Directions

GETTING READY
1. Preheat the oven to 375° and grease a cookie sheet

MAKING
2. In a large bowl, tip in the sugar, Crisco and the eggs and mix well
3. Add the oats and the milk and beat well again
4. In another bowl, sieve the flour, baking soda, salt and spices and add this to the oat mixture and beat well
5. Add the raisins and the nuts and mix to make a creamy mixture. Use a teaspoon to drop heaped spoons of the mixture on top of the baking sheet. Bake in a hot oven.

SERVING
6. Serve at room temperature
