Oatmeal Toffee

Ingredients
  Oats 2 Cup (32 tbs), rolled
  Butter/Margarine 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs), melted
  Brown sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), firmly packed
  Dark corn syrup 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Vanilla 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Chocolate chips 1 Cup (16 tbs) (semisweet)
  Nuts 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), finley chopped
Directions

Stir oats into the butter.
Add sugar, syrup, salt, and vanilla and pour into a greased 8-inch square pan and bake in a hot oven (450° F.) for about 12 minutes until golden brown.
Turn off heat, remove from oven, sprinkle on the chocolate chips, return to hot oven for about 2 minutes until chocolate is melted.
Remove from oven and spread the melted chocolate evenly over candy and sprinkle with nuts.
Allow to cool, then cut into squares.
Makes about 16 squares.
