Papaya Oatmeal Squares

Ingredients
  Flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Brown sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), firmly packed
  Butter/Margarine 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Rolled oats 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Diced ripe papaya 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Sugar 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Fresh lime juice 2 Teaspoon
  Chopped hawaiian macadamia nuts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

Sift together first three ingredients.
Add brown sugar.
Cut in butter until mixture is consistency of cornmeal.
Add roiled oats and mix well.
Press half of mixture into oiled 6 x 11-inch pan.
Combine papaya, sugar, lime juice and nuts and spread over crumb mixture.
Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture over fruit layer and press evenly with hands.
Bake in oven at 350°F.for 40 minutes.
Cool in pan.
Cut in small squares, rectangles or triangles, according to personal preference.
