Ingredients
  Nuts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped
  Egg whites 2 , beaten
  Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Vanilla 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄8 Teaspoon
Directions

Chop the nuts very fine.
Peanuts or pecans are especially good.
Beat the egg whites until stiff but not dry.
Beat in the sugar, a little at a time.
Fold in the vanilla, salt and nuts.
Drop by teaspoons on ungreased letter paper.
Bake in a slow oven 275°F. 40 to 60 minutes.
If well dried out in the baking and stored in a tight can, they will keep for a long time.
