Two Layer Walnut Squares
|Shortening||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Confectioner's sugar||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Cake flour||1 1⁄3 Cup (21.33 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Cake flour||2 Tablespoon|
|Baking powder||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Coconut||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Chopped nuts||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Cream shortening and confectioners' sugar together.
Add vanilla and egg yolk.
Add flour and mix well.
Press dough into a 7x11 inch pan which has been lined with waxed paper.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 425Â°F.
To prepare second layer: Beat eggs and sifted sugar together and fold in sifted dry ingredients.
Add remaining ingredients and spread over the baked crust.
Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350Â°F.
Cut into 24 11/2 inch squares.
