|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Flour||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs), sifted|
|Ground almonds||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
1 Preheat the oven to 350° F.
2 Lightly butter an 8-inch-square pan.
3 In a bowl, cream the butter.
4 Gradually add in the sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
5 In another bowl, mix the flour, almonds and salt.
6 Add a little at a time to the butter mixture, alternating with 1 egg yolk at a time.
7 Transfer the mixture in to the prepared pan.
8 Carefully mark 16 squares.
9 In the center of each square, place an almond.
10 Bake for 35 minutes or until browned.
11 Cut into squares and serve with coffee.
