Basic Savory Nut Mixture's picture
  Onions 2 Medium
  Vegetable oil 2 Tablespoon
  Nuts 1⁄2 Pound (225 Gram)
  Wholemeal breadcrumbs 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Parsley 1 Tablespoon, chopped
  Thyme 1 Tablespoon, chopped
  Sea salt To Taste
  Freshly ground black pepper To Taste
  Vegetable margarine 1 Ounce (30 Gram)
  Eggs 2
  Tomato puree 1 Tablespoon

1) Chop the onions and in some vegetable oil fry them well. Do not let them turn brown though.
2) Through a mincer, out the nuts or alternatively, briefly liquidize. Chop the nuts into small pieces without reducing them to a paste.
3) In a mixing bowl, add the nuts and the breadcrumbs. Stir in the salt, pepper and chopped herbs and then add the cooked onion. Rub in the margarine.
4) Put two eggs in the bowl and mix well. This will bind the mixture and give it a workable consistency. If required, add some water.

5) Serve as required.
