Chocolate Nut Squares
|Brown sugar||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs), firmly packed|
|Vanilla extract||1 Teaspoon|
|Unsweetened chocolate||4 Ounce, melted|
|Sifted all purpose flour||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Chopped walnuts||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Beat eggs with a hand beater until thick and lemon colored.
Gradually beat in sugar with a spoon.
Stir in vanilla and chocolate.
Gradually add flour and blend.
Add 1/2 the nuts and pour into a greased or oiled 8" x 8" x 2" pan.
Spread out with a spatula, then sprinkle remaining nuts on top.
Bake in a moderate oven of 350ºF for 25 min.
When cool, cut in 2" squares.
