Spiced Popcorn and Nuts
|Popping corn||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Vegetable oil||2 Tablespoon|
|Sweet butter||2 Tablespoon|
|Peanuts||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), salted or unsalted|
|Pecans||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Ground cumin||2 Teaspoon|
|Garlic powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Chili powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|White pepper||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
1. In a hot air popper or in a large pot with a tight-fitting lid, pop corn.
2. In a large saucepan, heat oil and butter. Add peanuts, pecans, cumin, garlic powder, chili powder, white pepper and salt. Saute over medium heat 1 to 2 minutes, until aromatic and lightly-colored. Be careful not to burn.
3. Add popped corn and toss until well-coated with seasonings.
4. Store in tightly-covered container. Keeps 2 to 3 weeks.
