Classic One-Dish Meal

You can serve this tasty One-Dish Meal for an informal dinner at home. I prepare this on days I feel like cooking up something filing and fast. Try this excellent One-Dish Meal recipe.
  Onions 3 Medium, chopped
  Stalk celery 1
  Shortening 3 Tablespoon
  Ground beef 1 Pound
  Canned tomatoes 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1 Teaspoon
  Chili powder 1 Teaspoon
  Rice 1 Cup (16 tbs), uncooked

Chop onions and celery together; brown in shortening.
Add ground beef and brown.
Add tomatoes and juice, salt, pepper, chili powder and rice.
Put in 2 quart casserole.
Cover; cook for 1 hour at 325 degrees.
Remove cover for last 15 minutes to brown top.
Add more tomato juice if needed.
