Chicken In the Pot with Noodles
|Whole chicken||2 Pound|
|White pepper||To Taste|
|Diced carrot||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Celery stalks||1 , cut into 1/2-in.pieces|
|Rutabaga||1 , peeled and diced|
|Thin noodles||2 Ounce (Raw Weight)|
Place the chicken in a large pot and cover with cold water.
Add all remaining ingredients except noodles.
Bring to a boil and simmer covered for 2-2 1/2 hours.
Remove the vegetables from the stock with a slotted spoon as soon as they are done and set aside.
When the chicken is cooked, remove it.
Strain the stock and return it to the skillet.
Add the noodles and simmer until they are tender.
Replace the vegetables into the stock and cut the chicken into pieces; place the chicken pieces into large soup bowls and ladle the stock over the chicken.
Serve very hot.
