Noodles With Sauteed Cabbage

Ingredients
  Cabbage head 1 Medium, finely shredded
  Salt 1 Tablespoon
  Butter 12 Tablespoon (1 1/2 Stick)
  White onions 2 Small, minced
  Sugar 2 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1 Teaspoon
  Egg noodles 1 Pound, cooked al dente, drained
Directions

In a bowl, place the shredded cabbage and salt; mix well and let set for 3 hours.
Rinse with cold water, drain, and dry.
In a pot, melt half of the butter.
Add the onions, and cook until soft.
Add the cabbage, sugar, and pepper.
Cover and cook over low heat for 1 hour; stir often.
Add the remaining butter, mixing it in well, and cook for 20 minutes.
Add the noodles, blending them with the cabbage; cook for 10 minutes.
Taste for seasoning.
