In this video, Betty and her husband, Rick, daughter, Chelsea, son-in-law, Chris, grandson, Carter, and dog, Remy, attend the 21st Annual Chicken Festival in London, Kentucky, which ran from September 23 - 26, 2010. We were there on Saturday, September 25. The annual festival is held in London, Kentucky, since it is only a few miles away from Corbin, Kentucky, where the original KFC restaurant (Sander's Cafe) was begun by Colonel Harlan Sanders, back in the 1950's. One feature of the festival is the "world's largest skillet," in which chicken was being fried as we watched. I purchased a chicken dinner, consisting of fried chicken, baked beans, potato salad, and a roll. Rick and Chelsea chose Asian food from one of the hundreds of booths at the festival, Carter had Little Caesar's cheese pizza, and Chris stopped by an historic London eatery, Weaver's Hot Dogs for a chili-cheese hot dog. (Remy feasted on leftover chicken breast and cold water.) This video shows just a few of the fun activities that we did, typical of fall festivals in our part of the country. I hope you enjoy taking the trip with us! I will be making some type of food that relates to this video soon! Enjoy!!! --Betty :)
