iFood Co-Founder Meets Irish Prime Minister

At the Good Food Ireland Awards Ceremony last month, had the privilege to present the Good Food Ireland Casual Dining Restaurant of the Year Award with the Irish Prime Minister, Enda Kenny. The award went to Farmgate (seen above is the owner of the restaurant receiving the award from the Prime Minister, Maragert Jeffares, Founder of GFE and Dr. Khan). During the impromptu meeting, the Irish PM Kenny expressed his appreciation for the work being done by  and thanked Dr. Khan for his well-received Keynote Speech earlier in the Conference.

The Irish PM also showed a keen interest in the future plans of the company while discussing the Irish agriculture and food business with the iFood co-founder. The awards ceremony lasted well over 3 hours and guests were served a lavish six-course Irish meal.

In his Keynote address earlier in the day, Dr. Khan, who is a technology entrepreneur, spoke about the impact of Smart TV on the future of food businesses and web-browsing audience. He suggested that if food businesses had a strong presence on the web, people with Smart TVs would be able to browse on their websites as they watched food and travel programmes. Speaking from a position of authority, he also informed the audience at the event that the website offers more than 300,000 recipes, 50,000 cooking videos and 20,000 blogs on food and lifestyle issues to its visitors.

With almost 600 businesses already under the Good Food Ireland umbrella, the association between and GFI seems like a match made in heaven.
