Amazon.com to Add Wine to its Cellar!
Amazon.com sells a lot of things online but wine has never been one of them, until now. The online market, which has millions of dedicated customers all over the world, has decided to sell wine now. To initiate their move, Amazon recently hosted a workshop in Napa Valley, California where representatives from about 100 wineries got together.
To start with, the online retailer will charge 15% commission on the sale price of wine and a monthly fee of $40 from the wine seller. Amazon made a similar attempt three years ago with New Vine Logistics but because of financial troubles, the effort was abandoned. Since then, Amazon has allowed the vineyards to handle the responsibility of shipping the wines to the customers, so it seems that the agreement may work this time.
