Sandra Bullock's Family Holiday Tradition: Smuggling Sausages!
While it is true that every family has its own whacky Holiday tradition, Sandra Bullock's family seems to lead from the front. Her family manages to illegally import sausages from Germany. The preparation of a Holiday meal with these super delicious, bootlegged sausages was started as a tradition by her mother who is no more.
The Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close actress told Jay Leno during her most recent appearance on The Tonight Show,"Since my mother passed, we break the law, because we have to manage to smuggle German sausages into the country, and apparently bringing meats across the waters is against the law. You fry 'em up with some sauerkraut and potato salad, but they have to be the right ones."
Sandra Bullock, 47, who is currently touring all around to promote her new movie Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, said that her family appeals to a few of their loved ones in Europe to send them some sausages over to the USA. But apparently, they appeal only during the Holiday season!
The Oscar winner told Jay Leno, "We just have to break the law a little bit, but eventually someone's package gets through," she told Leno. When she was to give away details, she made it clear that she would not kiss and tell. "I'm not at liberty to divulge how we smuggle the sausage," replied with a cute little smirk.
"When you put it that way," Leno said, "I don’t want to know." As always, Leno will be Leno. And we will get back to you when we get more scoop on 'dem sausages!
