Have you heard about the latest buzz on soda companies – how soda companies pushed pop as infants’ beverage? We are well aware that soda companies sell products which have ingredients that can lead to conditions of diabetes, gout, kidney stones and also diabetes. In spite of glaring evidence of the fact that conventional soda can cause several kinds of health problems, soda companies are still trying very hard to boost pop as infants’ beverage.


It is time for parents to be aware and stop such happenings, so that kids’ health is not put at stake. We all know that soda is extremely harmful for kids, yet these soda companies pushing pop is  now carried out in a large scale. Every effort is being made to convince parents that soda is good for health and that kids should be fed soda.


Pop as infant’s beverage has always been a matter of discussion since ages. During 1950’s it was seen that Soda Pop Board of America placed an ad in some popular National magazines, touting the following message.

"If you really want to give your baby a head start in life by improving their social standing and guaranteeing their happiness, start feeding them Coca-Cola, Pepsi and other sugary carbonated beverages at the earliest age possible. Even babies as young as a few months old will enjoy the many benefits of soda pop."


Soda companies pushing soda as infants beverage, continues even today. It is just that the form of pushing has changed with time. The ad promoting soda is seen even today, though the text has changed a lot. It now reads as -


"For a better start in life, Start COLA earlier!How soon is too soon?"

"Not soon enough. Laboratory tests over the last few years have proven that babies who start drinking soda during that early formative period have a much higher chance of gaining acceptance and "fitting in" during those awkward pre-teen and teen years.

So, do yourself a favor. Do your child a favor. Start them on a strict regimen of sodas and other sugary carbonated beverages right now, for a lifetime of guaranteed "I happiness.


It is for the parents to be aware and stop this consumption of soda and save their kids. Companies will always try to boost their sales with such ads and promotions, but it is up to the parents to think and wonder, if soda at such an early age is going to actually benefit their child.
