What could be simpler than sautéed mushrooms? Not only is this sautéed mushroom recipe easy, it adds tons of flavor to any meal. Serve it on top of chicken, beef or pork or add it to pasta dishes, soups or salads, or simply serve it as a side. This mushroom recipe is a good source of riboflavin.
Ingredients
  Vegetable oil/Butter 1 Tablespoon
Fresh mushrooms 1⁄2 Pound, sliced (white and brown)
Fresh herbs 2 Tablespoon (or 1 teaspoon dried herbs (italian, basil, rosemary, tarragon or thyme))
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon (optional)
  Pepper 1⁄2 Teaspoon (optional)
Directions

MAKING
1. In a large skillet heat the vegetable oil or butter over medium-high heat.
2. To this add the mushrooms and sauté for 3-4 minutes or until starting to brown.
3. Add in the fresh or dried herbs and if you wish you can season with a little salt and some pepper. Sauté for 1-2 minutes.

SERVING
4. This can be served hot as a side dish with chicken, to top a steak or in any salad.

TIPS
It is important to use a large pan so the mushrooms are in a single layer and will brown rather than steam and release all their juices.
Substitute fresh herbs with 1 teaspoon dried herbs like thyme, basil, or tarragon or 1 minced clove garlic.
Seasoning salt or salt free seasonings may be added to taste.
