Apple Cheddar Muffins

This apple cheedar muffin recipe comes out of my mom's worn old cookbook. These muffins combine the delight of cheddar cheese with the flavor of apples. Baked with brown suagr and rolled oats, these apple cheddar muffins are both crunchy and sweet. A family favorite, especially with the kids!
Ingredients
  Butter/Margarine 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Brown sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Eggs 2
  Whole wheat flour 1 2⁄3 Cup (26.67 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Baking soda 1 Teaspoon
  Rolled oats 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Apple pie filling 250 Milliliter
  Finely chopped aged cheddar cheese 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Milk 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
Directions

Preheat oven to 400° F (200° C) Muffin tin, greased or paper-lined:
In a large bowl, cream together margarine and sugar.
Add eggs and mix well.
Add flour, salt and baking soda and mix.
Add oats, pie filling and cheese and mix well.
Stir in milk.
Spoon batter into prepared muffin tin, filling cups three-quarters full.
Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes.
