Fresh Apple Muffins

  All purpose flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Baking powder 1 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Ground cinnamon 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Ground nutmeg 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Cooking apple 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs), peeled, chopped
  Milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Vegetable oil 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Egg 1 , beaten
  Sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)

Combine first 6 ingredients in a large mixing bowl; stir in 1 cup apples, and make a well in center of mixture.
Combine milk, oil, and egg; add to dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened.
Spoon batter into greased muffin pans, filling two-thirds full.
Combine remaining 1/2, cup apple, 1/4 cup sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon; sprinkle over muffin baiter.
Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes
