Ice Box Muffins

Ingredients
  Shortening/Butter 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Egg 1 , unbeaten
  Flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Baking powder 5 Teaspoon
  Chopped nuts 2 Tablespoon
  Sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Brown sugar 2 Tablespoon
Directions

Cream shortening and sugar; add whole egg and beat well.
Sift dry ingredients together.
Add alternately with milk.
Do not overheat.
Grease muffin tins.
Spoon in batter; cover and put in refrigerator overnight.
Sprinkle the brown sugar and nuts on top.
Bake for 25 minutes at 375°.
May be baked as soon as mixed but they keep nicely unbaked overnight.
