Cornmeal Muffins

Ingredients
  Yellow cornmeal 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  All purpose flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Sugar 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Baking powder 2 Teaspoon
  Soda 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Egg 1 , beaten
  Sour cream 1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs) (Commercial)
  Shortening 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), melted
Directions

GETTING READY
1.Preheat the oven at 450 degrees.

MAKING
2.In a large bowl, mix flour with baking powder, salt and sugar and also add pieces of margarine to it and stir till a loose and rough mixture is formed.
3.Put the currants in the bowl and mix them too.
4.Pour the milk slowly in the bowl so that a soft dough can be kneaded.
5.Once done, spread the dough with a rolling pin in such a way that the dough is 1/2 inch thick.
6.Take a 2 inch biscuit cutter and shape the dough accordingly.
7.Arrange the pieces on greased baking sheets and put them in the oven for baking for 10- 12 minutes.

SERVING
8.Serve with tea.
