|Baking powder||2 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Chopped pitted dates||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Egg||1 , well beaten|
|Milk||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Salad oil/Melted shortening||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt into mixing bowl; stir in chopped dates.
Make a well in the center.
Combine egg, milk, and salad oil; add all at once to dry ingredients.
Stir quickly only till dry ingredients are moistened.
Drop batter from spoon into greased muffin pans, filling 2/3 full.
Bake in a hot oven (400°) about 25 minutes.
