Spice muffins are sweet and snacky muffins flavored with a three spice medley. Flavored with ginger, cinnamon and cloves, the spice muffins are oven baked for a nice and soft texture. Served with tea or coffee or just as snacks, they are great.
Sifted all purpose flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Pepper white 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Baking soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Shortening 2 Tablespoon
  Baking powder 1 Teaspoon
  Sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Powdered ginger 1⁄2 Tablespoon
  Eggs 2 , well beaten
  Molasses 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Ground cloves 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Buttermilk 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Cinnamon 1⁄2 Teaspoon

Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, ginger, cloves, cinnamon, salt, and pepper.
Set aside.
Work shortening and sugar together in a bowl, beat in eggs vigorously, then stir in the molasses.
Stir in flour mixture and buttermilk alternately.
Pour batter into a greased muffin tin and bake in a preheated 350° oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until a cake tester or toothpick inserted in the center of one muffin comes out dry.
