Steamed Molasses Puddings

  Egg 1
  Shortening 2 Tablespoon
  Boiling water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  All purpose flour 1 1⁄3 Cup (21.33 tbs)
  Molasses 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Sugar 2 Tablespoon
  Baking soda 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Honey sauce 2 Tablespoon

1. Beat egg in 1 1/2-quart bowl on high speed until very thick and lemon colored, about 5 minutes. Stir shortening into boiling water until shortening is melted. Beat shortening mixture, flour, molasses, sugar, baking soda and salt into egg on low speed.
2. Pour 1/2 of batter (about 1 cup) into greased 2-cup measure. Cover tightly and microwave on medium (50%) 3 minutes; rotate measure 1/2 turn. Microwave until wooden skewer inserted in center of pudding comes out clean and pudding pulls away from sides of measure, about 2 minutes longer. Let stand 5 minutes; unmold. Repeat with remaining batter. (Can be served warm immediately with Honey Sauce.) Wrap each loaf tightly in plastic freezer wrap. Label and freeze no longer than 3 months.
3. About 10 minutes before serving, remove Steamed Molasses Puddings from freezer. (Do not remove plastic wrap.)
4. Prepare Honey Sauce.
5. Microwave wrapped loaves on medium (50%) 1 minute; turn loaves over. Microwave until warm, 1 to 2 minutes longer. Let stand 3 minutes. Slice and serve with Honey Sauce.
