Cinnamon Molasses Cookies

Ingredients
  All purpose flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Baking soda 1 Teaspoon
  Ground cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
  Ground ginger 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Ground allspice 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Shortening 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Egg 1
  Molasses 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Water 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Instant coffee crystals 1 Teaspoon
  Pecan halves/Walnut halves 36
  Sifted powdered sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Milk 2 Teaspoon
Directions

• Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, salt, and allspice. In a large mixer bowl beat shortening for 30 seconds. Add sugar and beat till fluffy. Add egg and molasses and beat well.
• Stir water into coffee crystals till dissolved. Add coffee mixture and flour mixture alternately to shortening mixture, beating till well mixed.
• Drop by rounded teaspoons onto a greased cookie sheet. Press a nut half into the top of each. Bake in a 375° oven for 8 to 10 minutes or till done. Remove and cool.
• Beat together sifted powdered sugar and enough of the milk to make an icing of drizzling consistency. Drizzle over cookies.
