Minced Meat Shashlik

  Lean minced beef 1 Pound, minced twice
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Freshly ground black pepper 1 Teaspoon
  Grated onion 1 Tablespoon
  Worcestershire sauce 1 Tablespoon
  Onions 4 Large
  Bay leaves 2
  Oil 1 Tablespoon
  Tomatoes 2 Small, halved
  Canned fine pimiento strips 1 Tablespoon

Combine the beef, salt, pepper, grated onion and Worcestershire sauce well together. Shape into small balls about the size of a large walnut. Put the onions in a bowl. Pour boiling water over and leave for 2 to 3 minutes. Drain and peel, then quarter. Thread onto four skewers with the meatballs and bay leaves. Brush with oil. Cook on the barbecue, turning until almost cooked.
Place the seasoned tomato halves on the skewers and cook for a further 5 minutes.
