Fresh nut milk is a world away from the cartons of soy, almond, rice and oat milk you get on the shelves, which is often filled with other ingredients that might not be the best for you too.
1 Cup (16 tbs), soaked overnight (cashew nuts or nut of your choice)
3 Cup (48 tbs)
1. In a bowl, soak the hazelnuts overnight with enough water to cover.
2. In a blender, place together drained hazelnuts and water and process until the mixture turns into paste.
3. In a jar, strain the nut milk through a strainer or nut milk bag, and press the pulp to remove the milk.
4. Fill the nut milk in a clean bottle and use as it is or add flavor to it by grinding it with dates, lemon juice and salt as desired.
Nut milk can be refrigerated for about 3 days.
You can use nut milk for making smoothies or porridge etc.
If you want to make sweet nut milk, blend it with dates or any other sweetener of your choice.
Use the nut pulp in some other recipe or turn it into flour by drying it in dehydrator and use to make cookies or cakes.
