Ingredients
  All purpose flour 2 Teaspoon
  Brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Water 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Maple syrup 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Butter 1 Tablespoon
  Eggs 2
  Granulated sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Vanilla 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Vegetable shortening 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Baking powder 2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Milk 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
Directions

GETTING READY
1. Preheat your oven for a few minutes at 250°F
2. Evenly grease a 12"X8"X2" baking dish

MAKING
3. In a saucepan, add water, butter and male syrup and cook them together; add to it about two teaspoons of flour mixed with brown sugar
4. Bring it all to a boil, turn the heat off and set aside to cool
5. In a bowl, whip the eggs, granulated sugar and vanilla, add the shortening too and blend well
6. In another bowl, sift together one and three quarter cups of flour, the baking powder and salt; add this to the egg mixture, along with the milk and blend thoroughly
7. Add this batter to the prepared baking dish
8. Bake in the oven for forty minutes or so until the top of it is a wonderful golden color and pour the maple syrup liquid over it
SERVING
9. Let it stand for a few minutes and serve warm
