Condensed Milk Rusks

Ingredients
  Flour 3 Pound
  Compressed yeast 2 Tablespoon
  Lukewarm water cakes 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Melted butter 6 Tablespoon
  Salt 1 Tablespoon
  Grated nutmeg/Aniseed 1⁄2 Teaspoon, grated
  Sweetened condensed milk 10 Ounce (1 tin)
  Lukewarm water 1 Cup (16 tbs) (for kneading)
Directions

Cream the yeast cakes with 1 tblspn, sugar and stir into the lukewarm water.
Beat this into the condensed milk and mix into the dry ingredients, mixed well together, adding enough more lukewarm water to make a kneadable dough.
Knead in the melted butter and knead very well.
Cover and leave in a warm place to rise until doubled in bulk.
Then knead it down lightly and shape into buns.
Place these together in greased bread tins, so that the tins are half-full.
Leave covered in a warm place till the tins are quite full.
Bake in a hot oven (400° F) for 1 - 1 1/4-hrs.
Cool.
Break the buns and dry out in a cool oven.
