Taco Salad

Taco salad is a Mexican inspired dish that comes in several variations. The very first taco salad was made in the 1960s in America. The ingredients often used in a taco salad includes ground beef, chopped tomatoes and green onions, shredded iceberg lettuce and cheddar cheese, salsa sauce or taco sauce, tortilla chips with green and red chopped bell peppers for garnishing. The taco salad is generally served on a tortilla shell topped with the aforementioned ingredients. It is a high calorie diet. Taco Salad is itself a variation of the conventional Tex-Mex dish.
