1. In a pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat, add in the onion, garlic and season with salt. Sauté until soft.
2. Stir in the beans, cumin powder, dry mango powder, red chili powder and pepper. Pour in the water and mix well, cover the pan with lid and cook for a few minutes.
3. Remove the lid and mash the beans with a potato masher. Adjust the seasoning according to your taste.
4. Serve refried beans with Mexican rice.
Sesame oil adds a wonderful flavor to refried beans. Refried beans are divine when topped with cheddar cheese, sour cream, and red onion.
