Atole (Mexican Hot Chocolate)

myvirginkitchen's picture
A unique hot drink from Mexico called Atole. I don't think it helped that I used cornflour rather than cornmeal...... but, it tasted alright! Be warned this is probably not the right recipe for Atole.
Ingredients
  Orange chocolate 100 Gram, grated
  Milk 200 Milliliter
  Cinnamon stick 1
  Cloves 5
  Cornflour 1 Tablespoon
Directions

MAKING
1. In a blender, add in the milk and corn flour, blend for a few seconds.
2. Pour the mixture into a pan with the cinnamon and cloves. Bring to a boil.

SERVING
4. Pour the Atole in a mug and serve.

The Mexicans definitely add a little bit of spice to all their cooking, don't they? They sure do! The Hot Mexican Chocolate is nothing like you have ever tasted before. It is a little tease. Enjoy this recipe video.
