In this episode we are making Pico de Gallo, a popular Mexican condiment. We're also gonna show you how to make a simple, but very tasty salsa. These go great with the fajitas from last episode so get out there and have fun in the kitchen. Enjoy!
For the salsa
1 Medium, cut into chunk pieces
3 Medium (Whole tomatoes are used)
1 Medium (Whole Jalapeno used)
1 Medium, juiced
1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Salt & pepper
For the pico de gallo
3 Medium, seeded and diced
1⁄2 Medium, diced
1 Medium, diced
1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped
1. Take a cast iron skillet and put the onion, tomato and jalapeno in it and roast it on high. Once cooled put them into a food processor and blend it well. Add the juice of 1 lime and cilantro. Blend it again till the salsa paste is achieved.
2. Season with salt and pepper. The salsa is ready to serve.
3. For the Pico De Gallo, in a large mixing bowl add the diced tomatoes, diced onion and jalapeno. Add the juice of 1 lime and cilantro. Mix all the ingredients well and add salt and pepper to taste and the Pico De Gallo is ready to serve.
