|Onions||2 Large, chopped to make 2 cups|
|Bacon drippings/1/4 cup / 1/2 stick butter / margarine||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Finely diced cooked beef||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Chili powder||2 Teaspoon|
|Salt||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Cooked kidney beans||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Shredded lettuce||2 Cup (32 tbs) (1/2 Head)|
1) In a large skillet, saute the chopped onions in bacon drippings or butter or margarine, stirring frequently.
2) Stir in the beef, salt, chili powder and pepper and saute for 1 minute.
3) Stir in the cooked kidney beans and cook gently for about 15 minutes, turning frequently.
4) Spoon into a deep platter, pile the shredded lettuce in center and serve immediately.
