Tamale Pie

  Ground beef 1 Pound
  Chopped onion 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Chopped green pepper 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Canned tomato sauce 16 Ounce (2 Cans, 8 Ounce Each)
  Canned whole kernel corn 12 Ounce, drained (1 Can)
  Chopped pitted ripe olives 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm), minced
  Sugar 1 Tablespoon
  Chili powder 3 Teaspoon
  Shredded sharp american cheese 6 Ounce (1 1/2 Cups)
  Yellow cornmeal 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Cold water 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Butter 1 Tablespoon

In large skillet cook beef, onion, and green pepper till meat is lightly browned and vegetables are tender.
Drain off fat.
Stir in tomato sauce, corn, olives, garlic, sugar, chili powder, 1 teaspoon salt, and dash pepper.
Simmer till thick, 20 to 25 minutes.
Add cheese; stir till melted.
Turn into a well-greased 9x9x2-inch baking dish.
For topping, stir cornmeal and 1/2 tea spoon salt into cold water.
Cook and stir till thick.
Stir in butter.
Spoon over hot meat mixture.
Bake at 375° about 40 minutes.
