|Masa harina||2 Cup (32 tbs) (Mexican Corn Masa Mix)|
|Shortening/Lard||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Warm water||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|Canned chopped green chiles||4 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Vegetable oil||3 Teaspoon|
Place flour in large mixer bowl; cut in shortening with a pastry blender or two knives until mixture resembles course crumbs.
Gradually add water, kneading dough until smooth.
Add chiles; mix well.
Form dough into 16 small balls; flatten to form a patty.
Heat vegetable oil in medium skillet; cook patties for 2-3 minutes each side or until golden.
Top sopes with desired toppings.
