Taco salad is a heavy side salad that is quite filling. Made with beef and beans along with tortilla chips, the taco salad is a layered salad and has veggies like lettuce and tomato in it flavored with taco sauce and seasonings.
|Ground beef||1 Pound|
|Taco seasoning mix||1 1⁄4 Ounce (1 Envelope)|
|Canned cream style corn||16 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Canned red kidney beans||16 Ounce, drained (1 Can)|
|Tortilla chips||7 1⁄2 Ounce, coarsely crushed (1 Package)|
|Lettuce head||1 Medium, torn into pieces|
|Shredded longhorn cheese||16 Ounce (About 2 Cups)|
|Tomatoes||2 Medium, diced|
|Taco sauce||1 Tablespoon (Use Commercial Variety)|
Cook beef in a large skillet until browned, stirring to crumble.
Stir in taco mix, corn, and beans.
Layer half each of tortilla chips, meat mixture, lettuce, cheese, and tomatoes in a large serving bowl.
