Carmelized Onions

Unique, yet easy appetizer.
Ingredients
  Pearl onion 1 Pound, peeled, thawed
  Olive oil 1 Tablespoon
  Sugar/Dark brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Aniseed 1 Pinch
  Apple vinegar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

MAKING
1. In a sauté pan, heat olive oil and sauté the onions till translucent.
2. Add the sugar and continue sautéing till it thickens and begins to brown.
3. Sprinkle with a pinch of aniseed and pour apple vinegar.
4. Allow it to melt and develop a glaze on the onion.

SERVING
5. In a serving plate, serve it with vegetables or as it is.
