Fennel Braised with Bacon
|Fennel bulb||5 Ounce|
|Butter||1⁄2 Ounce (15 Gram)|
|Bacon streaky rashers||2|
|Onion||1 Small, chopped|
|Stock||3 Fluid Ounce (85 Milliliter)|
|Ground black pepper||To Taste|
|Chopped parsley||1 Tablespoon|
1) Prepare the fennel, cut into 8 longitudinal pieces, trimming a little at the base.
2) In a pan , saute the bacon and onion in butter for 2 min ; stir in the fennel and blend well into the butter.
3) Pour in the stock, season well with salt and pepper, allow to boil; reduce the heat , simmer covered for further 10 min until the fennel is done while still crunchy.
4) Garnish with the chopped parsely and serve immediately.
