Baklava

Ingredients
  Unsifted flour 5 Cup (80 tbs)
  Eggs 5
  Oil 5 Tablespoon
  Salt 2 Teaspoon
  Baking powder 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Lukewarm water 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Walnuts 2 Cup (32 tbs), put through medium fine chopper
  Sifted cornstarch 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Melted butter 4 1⁄2 Cup (72 tbs)
Directions

Mix flour, baking powder, salt, then add eggs and oil.
Knead 15 minutes adding water a little at a time.
Divide dough into 20 equal parts.
Sift cornstarch over table and roll out the balls into paper thin sheets until they are 22" in diameter.
Place 5 sheets in a round pan brushing 1/20 of melted butter on each sheet and covering the top layer with chopped walnuts.
Place remaining 15 sheets on top, brushing each sheet with melted butter.
Cut pastry into diamonds and cook in a fairly hot oven until brown and flaky.
Soften it with syrup (sugar and water with a little lemon juice added) while still hot.
Serve cold.
