|Ground cloves||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Grated orange peel||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Lemon juice||1 Teaspoon|
Preheat oven to 350° F.and butter a 12 x 8-inch stainless steel baking pan.
Cut pastry sheets in half, making 20 12 x 8-inch sheets.
Brush 7 pastry sheets with butter and layer the sheets into the pan.
Combine walnuts, honey, and cinnamon.
Spread one-quarter of the mixture over filo sheets in pan.
Cover with 2 more sheets of buttered filo, then add another one-quarter of the walnut mixture.
Repeat until you have used a total of 13 sheets of filo and all of the walnut mixture.
Brush remaining 7 sheets of pastry with butter, and place on top of sheets in the pan.
With a very sharp knife, cut pastry to form 16 diamond-shaped pieces.
Top with remaining butter and bake in preheated oven for about 50 minutes, until top is crisp and golden brown.
When the baklava is baking, in a small pan combine remaining ingredients, heat to boiling, then lower heat and simmer mixture for 8 to 10 minutes.
Remove the baklava from oven and top immediately with hot syrup.
