Everyday Meat Loaf
|Eggs||2 , beaten|
|Milk||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Dry bread crumbs||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Onion||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), finley chopped|
|Snipped parsley||2 Tablespoon|
|Ground sage||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Ground beef||1 1⁄2 Pound|
|Catsup||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||2 Tablespoon|
|Dry mustard||1 Teaspoon|
Combine eggs and milk; stir in crumbs, onion, parsley, salt, sage, and pepper.
Add ground beef; mix well.
Pat into a 5 1/2-cup ring mold; unmold in shallow baking pan.
Bake at 350Â° for 50 minutes.
(Or pat mixture into 8 1/2x4V2x2V2-inch loaf pan; bake for 1 1/4 hours.) Spoon off excess fat.
Combine catsup, brown sugar, and dry mustard; spread over meat loaf.
Return to oven for 10 minutes.
Microwave cooking directions: Prepare meat mixture as directed above; pat into a 5 1/2-cup ring mold.
Invert into a 9 or 10 inch glass pie plate; remove mold.
(Do not use a loaf pan.) Cover with waxed paper.
Cook in a countertop microwave oven till meat is done, 12 to 13 minutes; give dish a quarter turn every 3 minutes.
Spoon off excess fat.
Combine catsup, brown sugar, and mustard; spread over meat loaf.
Let stand 5 minutes.
Transfer to serving platter.
