Economical Meatballs

Ingredients
  Potatoes 2 Large, peeled and diced
  Tart apples 2 Small, peeled and diced
  Onions 2 Large, peeled and chopped
  Bacon rashers 2 , finely chopped
  Eggs 2
  Hamburger mince 1 Kilogram
  Sausage mince 500 Gram
  Curry powder 2 Teaspoon
  Ground ginger 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 2 Teaspoon
  Ground black pepper 1 Teaspoon
  Worcestershire sauce 1 Tablespoon
  Flour 1 Cup (16 tbs) (For Shaping)
  Oil 2 Cup (32 tbs) (For Frying)
  Tomato sauce 1 Cup (16 tbs) (Spicy)
Directions

Put potato, apple and onion into a saucepan. Barely cover with cold water and simmer until tender, removing lid toward end of cooking time so that most of water evaporates. Drain and mash. Mix with remaining ingredients except flour and oil. Form into balls, using well-floured hands to prevent sticking. Fry in shallow oil. Serve hot or cold with toothpicks for dipping in Spicy Tomato Sauce. Makes 130-150 small meatballs. SPICY TOMATO SA UCE: Mix a little Worcestershire sauce and sugar and a dash of Tabasco into tomato sauce.
